The Brood Lord serves a similar purpose to the Guardian of the Brood Wars. It is a long range, air to ground, siege unit. It generates a Broodling on a target every time it attacks. If it hasn't attacked for a few seconds, it generates a second Broodling that will also be sent the next time the Brood Lord attacks.
