After a lots of speculations about the StarCraft II release date, finally someone from Blizzard has talked about it. On the pre-E3 Activision Blizzard conference held in the weekend, Mike Morhaime - president of Blizzard Entertainment - said:
"Mike Morhaime" wrote:We're targeting an end of year release --this year-- for StarCraft II. But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players.

According to GameSpot's coverage of the event, the beta is coming out later this summer. Also, Mike Morhaime said that more about their games will be revealed at Blizzcon, and he showed a cinematic cutscene video from the StarCraft II's single-player campaign, that hopefully we will see later.

holy double xxx tripple nipple quad duplet titties that sounds like just like what everyone thought:p lol anyway good news about the release date. But extremely bad new for Beta because i think most were guessing June 30th or something. I think if it is late summer the release date will be pushed forward to Feb. because they will need more time to fix and tune the game from the beta.

I doubt then i am guessing late August considering they did say late summer not middle of summer.

They actually said "later this summer", which is quite different from "late this summer". The former only means 'some time between now and the end of summer', the latter would indeed mean late in the summer.

i am sure Beta will start this month and will be keeping on all arround the world for 2-3 months at least! then in the rest 2-3 months they will have enough time to impliment the Beta fixes and then send the Gold dvdrom for production.

Damn you Blizzard summer is starting and e are allready thinking of Christmas :P

No really? ahah i thought you meant the beta.

And jonny64 i also doubt the beta will be release this month lol... everyone gets there hopes up to much.

Dude that picture at the begining of th epost, i dont remember the heros name but, i watched the trailer and when they were putting the new suit on him. If it was just being put on y are there so many scratches?????
