I have already posted this text minutes before, and decided to enter it in here as well; it concerns the diablo 3 thesis:

I come from the german starcraft portal http://starcraft2.4players.de. Their members (especially a moderator called "A-Knopf") have discovered some issues;

They found a blizzard forum with a picture of the d3-general menu, and A-Knopf linked to the picture to tell it the others. However, shortly after, the picture was replaced with the caption "Do not steal images". Seemingly, Blizzard took the picture away. As you know, players reported that it also worked with d4, d5 etc. However, when they entered d3, the title of the website equaled its URL, which was not the case with the other links. This seemed to indicate some kind of quick botch job. This is not anymore viewable at the time. Blizzard has either been correcting their mistakes very fast or, as proposed here in an earlier conversation, some employees of Blizzard are controlling the forums here, and react to our discoveries.

Well these are just a speculation, you cannot say 100% that splash will have animation(even if it's now in passive mode) if you are not 100% sure Let's wait until that animation starts(if you're right) and then it's worth a newspost, don't wanna push reports from WWI to the bottom of the page with extra text

ther is NO point to make the splash from image to animation and keep it idle!!! no point at all, the melting ice at this rate if it was images it will need 1more week to totally reveal the game, so they gave us some evidents and now they switched to flash in order to make the big sudden BOOM!

noone surious programmer using flash insend for images to display just 2d. it has to be interactive or video animated at least! like starcrft2.com main splash interactive animation!

its 100000000000% sure they are gona turnit from passive to active in less than an hour!!

p.s as about the front page you can just update the "Splash image 6: Blizzard winks " topic at the end and keep the wwi live on the top.

I think that Blizzard guys are just being self-confident, that's why they wink to us.

Notice the horn on the bottom right. It looks like Diablo's horn, which could have been broken, and he's gonna put it back on his head. (just speculations )

If you look at the left hand side, you can see a few scratches / scribbles - is someone counting days off, or is it just the artists' mess?

fiann21, you know, despite your photoshop skills(xD) that's a good point. There might be several creatures behind the ice, like Protoss in the center, some Diablo demon on the right(it fits perfect).

Guys... could someone confirm this? Right in the middle... there are nosetrils, right? it sure does look like he has a wide nose... look between the two lower rays of light... just below the eyes... I can't make a picture out of this .swf, so If anyone can, it would be helpful. But to me, it looks like it has a nose... not a protoss then... and yeah, the things above the eyes look a lot like horns...

I believe that Blizzard is showing us us the middle finger.

is it me or diablo3 progress is far more done compared to sc2 announcement?!

just see the 30min gameplay and the tones of art work......
they seem to work pretty fast, sc2 its hard to balance and take desitions.

only 5 classes now, untill the expansion

Yes, they were working on it for about six years now. But still, it's Blizzard which means 1-2 years from now.

I hope they want to release SC2, WoWTLK and Diablo 3 at the same time. (Hydra)

If you look at the splash, it has a boney brow, like a protoss. Also the horn might be a fang. So this splash might actually be the protoss/zerg hybrid, much like my name

If you all go to the new D3 website and look through Cain's journal you'll see the symbols from the splash page written in blood on page 13.

Don't know their significance to Diablo 3 but they obviously aren't meant to represent Warcraft or Starcraft.

Actually it only has the circle rune on it bringing the total of runes to three diablo, signifieing the new diablo, one starcraft, and one warcraft. If you remember at the end of the dark origin mission for SC BW Duran said this is the colmination of your history... the runes simbalize the history of Blizzard, and D3. As i said already, the splash isn't supposed to be the Diablo 3 emergance, its the next stage of SC2 history... Pergs...or Zotoss, because the head looks to be of that nature.
