looking at the forehead region, it doesn't look like the helm at all imo. in fact the forehead looks as if its a protoss figure? also it looks like the rest of the face may be flat (still in shadows) which is another trait of the protoss. mebbe something about SC2?

I agree, it doesn't really look like the Lich King. But I still can't see them doing this for just a release date or information or something. It seems way too overcomplicated for something that simple, and I don't recall them doing something like this before for such information.

Well SC2 is announced about an year ago and we know about SC2 a lot, there were a lot of SC2 related events and interviews given. Of course, we will get a tons of new information about SC2(maybe even SC2 beta) during Blizzard WWI, but I don't think these splash images are made to show us "look guyz omg SC2 on WWI !!11", it must be something revolutionary and definitely new.

The splash clearly is about Diablo 3.

For version 1.10 of Diablo 2 Blizzard published a picture with the title "Hell has finally frozen over...". It was a joke they made because they had spent so much time to release the patch.

The splash is about ice which is melting (frozen Hell melts) and finally Diablo will appear with the pentagram around him. (The "evilish" pinguin directs also to the frozen Hell part)

Yes linux. If blizzard made a linux compatible sc2 that would be amazing. I would buy 3 copies just to support linux games. (after I already bought my regular and collecters edition) I just hope they code in OpenGL not directX. with full driver support for linux starting to come from ATI and Nvidia, there are no excuses

Sadly, I wont be holding my breath waiting. One can dream though.

opengl vs directx, hmmm for now game companies are doing better stuff in directx.

but dont Forget Blizzard has the "know how" on OpenGL remember Warcraft3 if you put the -opengl command in your sortcute it run the game and the engine is rendering in OpenGL, but under windows i have seen lots of graphics corruptions, maybe a driver issus back then....

so Yes Blizzard can go Linux, Must go Linux as they do with Mac, there Engines are so great that can render in 2 different ways allready!

the runes are in a pentragram way of display so i definitley think it's about d3
even though the face on de 5th splash looks like a protoss, id still like to believe it will be d3

And yea the symbols are really nothing to do with starcraft so
it is most likely Diablo3.

I come from the german starcraft portal http://starcraft2.4players.de. Their members (especially a moderator called "A-Knopf") have found some issues about the d3 story:

They found a blizzard forum with a picture of the d3-general menu, and A-Knopf linked to the picture to tell it the others. However, shortly after, the picture was replaced with the caption "Do not steal images". Seemingly, Blizzard took the picture away. As you know, players reported that it also worked with d4, d5 etc. However, when they entered d3, the title of the website equaled its URL, which was not the case with the other links. This seemed to indicate some kind of quick botch job. This is not anymore viewable at the time. Blizzard has either been correcting their mistakes very fast or, as proposed here in an earlier conversation, some employees of Blizzard are controlling the forums here, and react to our discoveries.
