ShackNews writes with the news that the next patch release (beta patch 9) will include SC2's map
editor:
Galaxy Editor. You will not be able to upload your maps to Battle.net until the retail release, and will not be able to sell your maps until a year after the retail release.
The patch should be out this week and will accompany a second reset of the beta database (all profiles, friends lists, etc. like last time). It will also have a fix for the bug of profiles resetting or you logging in and other people's info appearing.
Marauders will also be buffed a bit, (after their fairly large nerf in patch 8) though the specifics are uncertain.
Additionally, the Mac beta client will be made available 3-4 days following the patch.

No major balance issues? So you're presuming there are no changes they need to make to the game just because they're adding the Map Editor, even though we're months before release, and there are quite a bit of balance changes that need to be made to the game?
Seriously, if SC2 was released as is, I would play SC1 more often.
