I started posting about a year ago. In the last half year I was writing my degree, and recently I moved to London from Hungary. That's why . Good to be back on board, anyways.

C'mon... it means only one quarter for beta. Wich, in my opinion, is not enough. Either beta will be sooner, or release later. I would say the second.

Beta shouldn't really be more than 3 months... Maybe 4 months tops between Alpha/Beta?

1 quarter should be more than enough for a beta - 1 quarter = 3 months

O well nothing new. I have the new CoD Modern Warfare that can hold me over easy. Heck, at this rate I might even forget SC2 is even a game, but rather a myth.

Yeah that game will really push limits for new first person shooter games. It looks to be a golden 5 out of 5 stars. Also Left 4 dead 2 will come out the 17th of this month. There are lots of fun games that i have to play now so I can wait till June to play. It will be the best summer ever. And nice new rank Colonel Audie lol

I agree, the new L4D looks great to. I hope they made all the new improvements that L4D one needed. CoD is going to rock....period. Then god of war and assassins creed comes out.

At this rate, Blizzard is starting to hurt itself with all the delays. Something new might come along and ruin the timing for SC2. Let's just hope that doesn't happen.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating - I would recommend against buying the PC version of CoD MW2 - they f-d us over on the PC side of multiplayer. They took multiplayer down to a max of 9v9, and took away dedicated servers - so now its a console game with a superior control input. I'm boycotting it (along with 185,000+ petitioners for dedicated servers) until they fix it.

I actually bought the game and the new IWnet system is very similar to battle.net! It provides matchmaking along with friendlists and clan support. Also, I haven't been experiencing lag at all. You should try it for yourself . I personnally prefer 6v6 and 9v9 games over 16v16's on a dedicated server.

MW2 will keep me busy until the start of SC2 beta!

I'm a console gamer for pretty much everything except RTS, and MW2 is awesome (I have it on 360). You're really missing out if you won't buy it on the principal of them making it run more like a console game. But hey, if that's more important to you, you can do whatever you want.
Why would you even want 16v16? I feel the maps are sized for 6v6 or so anyway, and even 9v9 makes them too crowded.

Anyone need translation from russian? (I'm russian, so I can help with it)

they took out dedicated servers...and custom mods. basically they made the pc version a direct port from the console. Which would be FINE - if they admitted it. But they refuse to, and it is sad because CoD began as a PC only game. If you buy the PC version, you're settling...i'm not getting it unless its prepurchased or significantly discounted.

FPS's on the PC have a long history, and this is a weak attempt at a multiplayer PC fps. Single player looks good, regardless of the multiplayer content, but if you have any previous experience in multiplayer PC fps's, this is an insult to our collective intelligence. If you're a console gamer, all the more power to you - its a solid game for the platform, and I'm jealous of that. But multiplayer on the console will never come close to the community and experience of traditional fps's. If I wanted to play a matchmaking fps, i'll play l4d (which i'm getting on the 16th, btw...lemme know your steam id ^_^)

Assuming the 2.5 month old info in the first post is still valid, I believe that would mean the beta would be released some time in 2010, and the release would be Q2 2010, which would imply the beta would be released Q1 2010.
Or maybe they meant "the beta has been pushed back to 2010, more specifically the release of the beta will be Q2 2010."
I really don't know which one was/is true, but I'm pretty sure most people at the time assumed the former (which implies beta in Q1, release in Q2).

bah...whoever bumped this made me mad again at MW2...
