Fan Site Q&A #2 - Starfeeder11 months 2 weeks ago
by Tiger0211
The second in the Fan Site Q&A series has been released. This time Starfeeder's questions were answered. Some of the most interesting new information is that the Hydralisk is back to Tier 1.5 and the announcement of a new Zerg air unit: the Brood Lord. The Brood Lord is a more powerful version of the Swarm Guardian, which it replaces.
Dustin wrote:5. Are any new units yet to be revealed? ie: Zerg heavy air unit?
[Dustin Browder] Zerg has a new flying heavy assault unit known as the Brood Lord. This one is buff! Much more intimidating than the Guardian and will still be morphed from the Mutalisk. This unit will be replacing the previously seen Swarm Guardian and will have new art as well. This unit currently has 350 hit points and a large range of 9, doing 25 damage and spawning a Broodling upon each attack, which will live for a few short seconds, doing minor melee damage.

For all questions and answers check out Starfeeder's site.

Karune will be posting updates on all fan site Q&As, including ours, in this thread, so keep an eye on it.

I thought the Swarm Guardian was pretty cool. The Brood Lord had best strike fear into T&P.

I don't know where the Brood Lord differs from the Guardian.

(compared to Swarm Guardian, not the plain ol' BW Guardian) It's stronger, probably more expensive, and has a new model. No, it's not a big difference at all, more a unit rework than a new unit altogether, but I think it's an improvement overall.

I'm interested in seeing the new art model. I wasn't a big fan of the swarm guardian model, so I am hoping the new brood lord will look good.

I'm surprised the broodling bit was retained. I thought it would be shown to be a sloppy gimmick.
